Sew for a Cause

We hope you will be able to join us in a very worthwhile endeavor.  We'll be using our creative skills to make Alzheimer's Activity Mats (aka "Fidget Quilts"), easy-to-sew lap-sized mats used by patients with dementia and other disorders.   A variety of interesting objects can be added to the mats, which can be used for soothing, entertaining, and strengthening.  For some ideas and instructions, please visit http://www.nancyzieman.com/blog/sewing-2/sew-an-alzheimers-activity-mat/.   We will be donating the mats to Barnabas Health Hospice in West Orange, NJ.

You may come for part or all of the day.  We will need people to design, to cut and prepare materials, as well as to sew the mats, so there is plenty for everyone to do!  Please bring a friend, and plan to join us on the 22nd!  Thanks!
