About the event

The original bojagi refers to the creation of traditional reusable wrapping cloths for gifts and packages. A number of hand stitches are incorporated. These techniques can also be used in the creation of garments, home decor items, and accessories. Many find the hand stitching to be very calming and rewarding. Fabrics used include silk, ramie, hemp, & cotton, which may be embellished with embroidery or painting. The results are beautiful!

Our presenter will be Youngmin Lee, author of the book Bojagi: The Art of Korean Textiles, and the Threads article "Learning the Korean Textile Art of Bojagi - Finding happiness in hand-stitching a traditional wrapping cloth", Threads #223, Fall, 2023. We hope you can join us!
